Javier L. Esteve
I am an experienced, bilingual franchise and business attorney looking to support small business owners achieve their goals.
After years working in criminal defense with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, I was eager to reconnect with my business roots. My passion has always been in business development and strategy. It started when I was young and would visit my grandfather at his tractor dealership in Puerto Rico. As I got into high school, my family started a catering company, Paella At Your Place, and together we created steady revenue growth for over a decade. I have also had the pleasure of working in international sales, collaborating with global powerhouse brands like Bacardi, Brugal, and Pernod Ricard. Most recently, I have had the opportunity to help launch over 75 franchise systems in 2 years.
While in law school, I worked with the Law and Leadership Institute, teaching students from underserved communities various topics including constitutional rights, public speaking, and problem-solving skills, as well as clerking with an immigration lawyer. Working with children from underserved communities and immigrants helped me communicate better and empathize with my clients and colleagues.
Not found on my resume but something I believe deeply is that the most valuable skills I have learned were on my days in the restaurant industry where I’ve worked from busser all the way up through being a bar manager in both chains and local restaurants. It was an important experience that taught me many skills and accountability that I apply to my everyday practice.
Away from the office, I spend my time with my wife, family, and friends. I am a borderline obsessive sports fan, love to cook, and love being in the ocean. If there is anything else you want to know, I would be happy to talk to you.
